Amanda’s Story

by | Apr 21, 2023 | Patient

My name is Amanda. I am a 34 year old single mom of two daughters. 11 year old Madeline and 5 month old Phoenix. In 2020 I lost all of my hair to Alopecia. I had gorgeous red hair and it had been my identity since birth. It fell out from stress. Being a single mother with no support system took its toll on my body. I have been in and out of the shelter in my town four times working on becoming stable and secure. Slowly bit by bit I am making it and it is miraculous. I created my own business that I can take my girls with me on jobs. I am rebuilding my credit. I am focused and we are ascending. I bought a beanie off the ilillie shop on etsy and I wear it everyday. Its soft and fits so amazing. Its lavender purple and has a little lace flower. It has been the best one I have found and I am grateful this was made just for me. This beanie is part of an adventure that is full of love and hope.

Thank you so much again, Amanda, for sharing your wonderful story.  Let’s remember that even in the face of immense challenges, there’s always hope to be found. And let’s never underestimate the power of a kind gesture, a handmade creation, or a simple act of compassion. Remember to stay strong, embrace your own resilience, and find hope in the small moments.
